Waitlist
Our waitlist length varies from year to year. Each year we anticipate 15 standard members to resign, as well as a few families to drop off the waitlist. Consequently, we typically expect the waitlist to move about 20 slots per season. All waitlisted families have the option to sign up their children for the competitive Swim and/or Dive Teams. The goal is to encourage a smooth transition into membership. Children can participate in practices, competitive meets, and award ceremonies. Such families would not be eligible to use club facilities except during scheduled team activities.
Ownership Bond
Once a family on the waitlist is offered a standard membership, they must make a choice: join the club or be removed from the list entirely. New members must purchase a $750 bond that represents a full share of ownership. The bond maintains its value and will be bought by a new member when the current member resigns. Should the club dissolve, the bond may be worth considerably more or less depending on the value of the club's land and other assets at that time.
Senior Citizen Sustaining Privilege
When at least one of the certificate holders of a Resident-Family Membership has reached the age of 62 and has been a continuous member for at least 10 years, then the certificate holder(s) may elect to resign, redeem the bond, and become entitled to senior citizen sustaining privileges, subject to availability of a limited number of privileged slots as outlined in the LSA Bylaws. The privilege includes full use of the pool and facilities at a discounted rate, but does not include eligibility to vote or hold office. Senior Privilege extends only to the certificate holders and not their families. Once you are eligible, you may request to be placed on a first-come first-serve waitlist for available slots.
Bond Tendering Procedure
If a member intends to resign, he/she will need to submit the original bond and a letter stating one’s desire to resign from the pool. Letters of resignation must be sent to the LSA PO Box via certified mail, return receipt requested. If one cannot locate one’s original bond, the written resignation must indicate inability to locate original bond. One’s resignation and tender of one’s bond will not be effective until documents are received by the Membership Chair. Upon tendering one’s bond, a refund, equal to the face value of the certificate, minus any money owed to the Association, will be delivered as soon as a replacement certificate is purchased by a new member. Schedule of tender dates and fees.
