Club Rules &
Regulations
The following rules and regulations have been established by the Board of Trustees to insure the safe and sanitary operation of the pool facilities at 74 Craven Lane. It is the responsibility of each member to instruct their children and guests concerning the rules and the need to heed instructions of the Pool Manager and Lifeguards. For issues not addressed here, see our Bylaws. 1. CLUB PRIVILEGES 1.1 Resident-member families as well as those granted Senior Citizen Sustaining Privileges, Seasonal Guest Privileges or other annual privileges are considered "members" for the purposes of the rules and regulations. 1.2 Club privileges are extended to members who have paid their current annual dues and are non-transferable. 2. POOL HOURS 2.1 The official pool hours are as published in the calendar and activities schedule approved annually by the Board. 2.2 Under special circumstances such as prolonged heat spells or high demand, pool hours may be extended with the approval of the pool manager or an officer of the Association. 2.3 Pool hours may be reduced during inclement weather as determined by the pool manager and guards. 3. RULES OF CONDUCT 3.1 All members and their guests, including children, must sign the register each time they enter the premises. 3.2 Members are personally responsible and liable for their own conduct, deportment and safety, and for that of any family members or guests brought to the pool. 3.3 Use of the pool is limited to persons wearing proper bathing attire. 3.4 Food and drinks (other than water) may not be consumed on the concrete apron. 3.5 Trash and recyclable material must be deposited in the appropriate containers. 3.6 No alcoholic beverages may be consumed on the property, except during LSA sponsored adult parties. 3.7 Members must adhere to the 25 mph speed limit on Craven Lane, and 10 mph in the parking lot. 3.8 Abusive language will not be tolerated. 3.9 Lounges are not permitted on the concrete apron along the shallow end of the adult pool. 4. GUESTS 4.1 The privilege to bring guests is reserved exclusively for resident-members and those granted Senior Citizen Sustaining Privilege. Holders of Season Guest Privileges are not entitled to bring guests to the club. 4.2 All guests must be signed in and paid for by an appropriate family member. Members who fail to record guests on daily attendance sheets are subject to sanctions and penalties by the Board. 4.3 Guests must be accompanied at all times by a member 14 years or older (or entering 9th grade) who will be responsible for their registration and conduct. Members must remain as long as their guest(s) stay on club premises 4.4 No resident family may bring more than 20 guests during any one season. A member may not bring more than 10 guests at one time without prior approval from the pool manager and an officer (see Parties). 4.5 Anyone engaged by a member to supervise children must be registered in advance or have a permission letter from a parent. Such "guardian guests" are subject to approval by the Board. Guardian guests may not register their own guests and will have club privileges only when accompanied by a member. 4.6 Guest Rates:
4.7 Parties: With at least one week prior approval by the pool manager and a board member, a member may hold a party at the pool. The member will be charged the standard rate for each non-member guest, but the number of party guests will not be deducted from their total allowable guests for the season. The member is responsible for informing all guests of the rules and supervising their conduct. Members who entertain 20 or more guests at one time must register the party with a $25 reservation fee. Corporate parties sponsored by members are subject to Board approval and additional fees. 5. ADMISSION OF CHILDREN 5.1 Children UNDER 10 must be accompanied to the pool and closely supervised by a responsible adult member or qualified care-giver, who is at least 14 years of age or entering the 9th grade, at all times. Children in the baby pool must be under constant and direct supervision of a responsible adult or qualified caregiver who is within the enclosed Baby Pool area. 5.2 Children AGED 10 or 11 may visit and use the pool unaccompanied by a parent only if they have passed a swimming test conducted by an LSA lifeguard, and their parent has signed a Swimming Consent Form. 5.3 Children UNDER 12 are not permitted in the diving area of the large pool unless they have passed a swimming test conducted by an LSA lifeguard, and their parent has signed a Swimming Consent Form. 5.4 Children 12 & OVER may visit and use the pool unaccompanied by a parent. 5.5 During swim practice, the coaches will provide supervision of team members of all ages. 6. HEALTH AND SAFETY 6.1 No individual is permitted to use the pool outside posted hours or when no lifeguard is present. 6.2 No one with a cold, cough, fever, inflamed eyes, skin disease, or who is wearing a bandage will be permitted to use the pool. 6.3 Children who are not completely toilet trained are not allowed to use the large pool, unless the Baby Pool is closed for servicing. Parents are responsible to impress upon all of their children the necessity of using the toilets instead of the pool when the need arises. Pool time for infants and toddlers must be frequently interrupted for potty breaks. 6.4 Children under the age of 3 and any swimmers who are not potty-trained must wear swim pants with snug-fitting elastic legs and waists. 6.5 Running, pushing, and horseplay is prohibited in the pool area, including the diving board. 6.6 No glass is allowed on pool premises, including the parking lot, at any time. 6.7 Nothing shall be taken into the pool area that may pollute the water, clog the filter, or injure pool users. 6.8 Rafts are prohibited, except during raft nights and other designated times. Sinking toys, such as weighted rings, are permitted at all times. 6.9 Kick boards are to be used in the swimming lanes, for swim lessons, or for swim team practice only. 6.10 Wearable swimming devices such as life preservers or "swimmies" are permitted. 6.11 Small toys and flotation devices are permitted in the baby pool. 6.12 No one may enter the pool without first washing off all grass, sand and dirt. 6.13 No skating, skateboarding or other similar activities are allowed on Association property. 6.14 Pets are not permitted on Association property during pool hours. 7. GENERAL 7.1 Lifeguards are provided to watch and guard the entire pool, and under no circumstances shall they be asked to baby-sit or supervise a particular individual. 7.2 Lifeguards, when not on duty and when the pool is available, may conduct private swimming lessons for members. Any payment is a matter between the member and the instructor. 7.3 The Association is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property. Items left in the dressing rooms or pool area will be placed in the "Lost and Found" and will be disposed of if not claimed within a reasonable period of time. 7.4 Adult swim periods will be announced by lifeguards, in accordance with criteria set by the Board. Only persons 16 years of age and older will be permitted to swim at these times. 7.5 The cost of any club property damaged or destroyed will be billed to the member responsible. 8. INFRACTIONS 8.1 Lifeguards and the Pool Manager are authorized and empowered by the Board to enforce these rules and such other rules and regulations as may be necessary for the proper operation of the pool. 8.2 If a rule is violated by a minor, a lifeguard may limit the child's privileges for a brief period during the day. If the child persists in violating rules after being warned, a guard may suspend the child from the club for the balance of the day. Lifeguards must refer flagrant or repetitive violations to the Board for appropriate action. No rebate of dues shall be made in the case of a suspension. 8.3 The Bylaws of the Association provide for the suspension of members for infractions of the rules. These Bylaws will be enforced and members are hereby cautioned that the above rules are expected to be followed.
