Please fill out the appropriate TEAM registration form: one is for standard members who are bonded owners with full facility privileges, and the other is for team only members who have limited facility privileges. Everyone must be a resident of Lawrence Township. Medical form also required.

Join the Swim and/or Dive Team!
We encourage all LSA
youth, 18 years or younger, to join the Swim and Dive Team. All swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool unaided (or be willing to try). Divers must be willing to jump off the board forward and backward. We are looking forward to having a great time while putting in
a strong team performance this coming season. Although Swim & Dive Team means
competition, it has always been, and remains our goal, to provide a fun,
positive experience for a child of any age and any ability level. We are
especially looking to grow our swim team with participation from children 10 &
under and our dive team with teenagers.
Signup & First Meeting
If your child is
interested in participating on the Swim and/or Dive Team, please complete and
submit the attached registration form along with the registration fee as soon as possible, but anytime through Memorial Day is acceptable. The Swim
and Dive Team parents' meeting will be held on Sunday, May 22 at 11:30 AM.
Team suits can be purchased before the meeting from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM. Fittings
take time, so do arrive early!
Parent Participation
As always, our team cannot
function without the help of the parents. Each team family is expected to
provide a parent to help at our competitions. Each swimming family must work 3
meets; each diving family must work 2 meets. If your child swims and dives, you must meet both commitments. This commitment will fulfill your
annual “pool participation” with the club while giving you a chance
to cheer your children on. Other club participation will not fulfill this
requirement. In order to run these meets, we need all of you to pitch in.
Practices & Meets
Practices will begin the
Tuesday after Memorial Day, and will be held in the afternoons until school is
out. The team will most likely compete in 5 swim meets and 5 dive meets plus championships. All
swimmers are asked to please keep Tuesday and Thursday evenings open, and all
divers Monday and Wednesday evenings, from the last week of June through July in order to
participate in the meets. A final practice and meet schedule will be
distributed by Memorial Day Weekend.
We strongly encourage 10 & under team members to participate in the Mini Swim Meet on July 9, and ALL team members to participate in the PASDA Diving Championships on July 20th and 21st, and the PASDA Swimming Championships on July 25th & 26th.
Stroke & Turn Clinic
The goal of the LSA Stroke & Turn Clinic is to strengthen, enhance & further develop the skills of the competitive level swimmer. Coach Shields & Coach Dana, both seasoned swim coaches for competitive teams in the area, have designed the program to include both Advanced & Intermediate levels. If your child has never participated in our Stroke & Turn program they must be evaluated by Coach Dana & Coach Shields. Placement in either level is based on swimmer’s ability and will be determined by Coach Dana & Coach Shields.
Advanced Level: swimmer must legally perform 1 full lap of each of the 4 competitive strokes. This level will focus on refining stroke technique, strengthen swimmer’s starts, turns & finishes, as well as teach/develop race strategies.
Intermediate Level: swimmer must legally perform 1 full lap of both freestyle & backstroke. This level will focus on further developing freestyle & backstroke skills, as well as teach breaststroke & butterfly. We will also work on starts, turns, finishes and racing strategies.

• We are offer 8 or 6 week programs for the Advanced level and a 6 week program for the Intermediate level. No prorated fees allowed.
• 8 week $250, 6 week $175
• Registration deadline: May 1, 2011.

Group & Private Swim
Lessons
Swim lessons are availabe to the children of Standard Members (association owners) and those
who have applied for standard membership only. Summer swim lessons are intended for
those children who still need to learn how to swim or improve their basic
skills. Lessons are appropriate for young children to prepare for swim team or
to learn how to be more comfortable in the water.
Group Lessons: Children will be taught by one instructor daily, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. Swimmers will be grouped by ability and class size, and classes will not exceed 5 students. Classes last ½ hour. You can choose to enroll your child in Session 1 (June 20-July 1) or session 2 (July 5-18). Each session is 10 days. Choose a morning start time of either 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM. Lessons are booked on a first come, first serve basis. Please return the lesson registration form to LSA with a check made payable to LSA. Alternatively, you can hand the form and check in to the Aquatics Instructor anytime before June 17th.
Private Lessons: Private swim lessons can be independently arranged with any staff member to take place any time they're not working. The expected rate is $15 per half hour lesson payable directly to the instructor. Some staff may charge more or less, based on experience.
